Frequently Asked Questions
I'm ready to order, where do I start?
Choose the marker type and start the order process.
What if I want to customize the design elements myself?
Not a problem…custom marker inquiries are welcomed, please call us at 1-877-321-1907.
What if I made a mistake in designing my marker?
Be sure to proofread your design thoroughly and check it for any possible mistakes such as spelling, dates, etc. before you finalize your order and submit it to us for manufacturing. Be sure it is 100% correct! If you find you have made a mistake after your order has been submitted, please contact us immediately.
What do I need to do in preparation for receiving the marker?
a) You will need to check with your local cemetery in advance to make sure the marker you order conforms to all of their specific cemetery rules and regulations.
b) You will need to check with your local cemetery regarding their procedures, fees and other costs paid directly to them as they relate to the (purchase?) and installation of the marker.
c) You will need to review and confirm your local cemetery’s delivery procedures including, but not limited to, available delivery dates, signature requirements, (unloading?), etc. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to confirm all delivery requirements of their local cemetery.
How will my marker be shipped?
Your marker will be shipped to your cemetery or business via FedEx or UPS. Any residential shipping will incur further cost to the purchaser.
Can you match an existing marker already on our plot?
Yes. The process is a little more complicated. We will mail you a piece of rubbing paper with instructions and ask for an impression of the marker. Digital photos are helpful as well. Please call us at 1-877-321-1907.
How is a second name and date added to a marker later on?
The additional date inscription will be added by a local monument company, which will perform the engraving on site with portable equipment. The cemetery or a local funeral home would be able to refer you to whoever provides this service in your area.
Can I order a marker engraved in a language other than English?
Yes. You must supply the text. This may incur an additional charge.
Do you offer bronze grave markers?
No
Can the marker be shipped to my residence instead of to the cemetery?
Yes, however this will result in an additional charge.
We will gladly ship markers 24" x 12" x 4 " or smaller to a residence. Please be advised that a 24" x 12" x 4 " marker will weigh approximately 135 pounds crated , so please make sure that you are capable of handling the marker once it arrives.
Will the cemetery accept a marker from an outside source?
Yes. They are required to by law as long as the marker conforms to their rules and regulations.
You have the right to purchase a marker from any source that you choose. in an attempt to discourage you from purchasing a marker elsewhere the cemetery may tell you that they will accept a marker only if it complies with certain quality standards or material specifications. Please know that our markers comply with the industry standards subscribed to by all major cemeteries throughout the country. If a cemetery claims it has a regulation that requires you to purchase the marker only from the cemetery, have them show you such a provision in their written by-laws.
Who is responsible if the marker gets damaged by the cemetery equipment?
Many cemeteries will tell you that they are not responsible for damage to a marker if you purchased it from someone other than the cemetery. This is a commonly used scare tactic used to discourage people from purchasing a marker elsewhere. The reality is that if the cemetery has an endowment care fund (almost all do), the fund is there to provide general upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery, including repairing markers damaged by their equipment. Since every cemetery is different, the only way that you can be certain of their policies is to obtain and read a copy of the cemetery's by-laws.
Do cemeteries put foundations under the marker?
Check with your cemetery in regard to their foundation regulations.
